Healthy Through the Holidays- Week 6!

TWO WEEKS LEFT!!!  You are all doing so well!  You are in the home stretch now!  Hopefully you are enjoying your holiday season and still feeling good about the choices you are making!  Christmas is two weeks away.  Are you prepared for the day?

Looking back at your journal, do you see some strategies to get through the day in your notes?  you can do this and begin the new year even healthier than you were in 2011!

For this week- I have three things I want you to focus on……….

1. If you have a cell phone with a camera, I want you for this one week only to take a picture of everything you eat.  This will be your food journal without having to write anything down.  Each day, post at least one pic of your food choices for the day.  This was one of the tips Dr. Adam Smith of Fort Worth LapBand gave to the listeners on Fit Living radio tonight.  This is such a great and easy way to keep a food journal.

2. I want you to prepare for Christmas day eating.  Are you cooking?  Start planning what you will be making NOW and how you will make the meal a healthy one.  Are you going to someone else’s house?  If so, talk with them and get a feel for the menu and offer to bring a healthy dish so that you know you have good choices on the day.  Preparation is KEY!

3. With things being so very busy this time of year, I want you to remember how important it is for your health to take your daily vitamins and stay hydrated!  Focus on getting your water intake in full each day this week and post your results daily.  Remember that anything that is not carbonated or caffeinated and has no calories will count as water.   Try using some of the new water flavorings on the market for some variety.  If you are out of vitamins, order more here , from our sponsor Bariatric Advantage, and help the WLS community at the same time!  Post your vitamin and water results each day.

You can do this!  Keeping your body hydrated and staying vitamin compliant will help you with energy, give you great-looking skin and hair, and also help keep things moving as they should on the inside!
